View full detailsThe DJI collection currently carries five products across two categories: four Zenmuse XT thermal imaging gimbals and the DJI FlyCart 30 Winch System Kit. The Zenmuse XT lineup includes two resolution tiers (336×256 and 640×512) across two lens focal lengths (9mm and 13mm), with both standard and radiometric versions available.
The DJI Zenmuse XT is a professional-grade thermal imaging gimbal developed through a collaboration between DJI and FLIR, one of the world's leading thermal sensor manufacturer. It combines DJI's precision gimbal stabilization and Lightbridge video transmission technology with FLIR's high-sensitivity infrared sensors, delivering smooth, stabilized aerial thermal imagery with real-time low-latency transmission to a ground operator. The result is a purpose-built aerial thermal solution that outperforms handheld thermal cameras for coverage speed, safety, and data quality across large or inaccessible areas.
The difference is thermal resolution, the number of pixels in the sensor's infrared detector array. The 336×256 sensor produces lower-resolution thermal imagery suitable for general detection, search and rescue, and broad area surveillance. The 640×512 sensor captures four times as many thermal pixels, producing significantly sharper, more detailed imagery which is critical for applications like power line inspection, precise equipment fault detection, building envelope analysis, and precision agriculture where fine temperature gradients across small features matter. When pixel-level accuracy is required, the 640×512 is the right choice.
A radiometric thermal camera stores the absolute temperature value of every pixel in each captured image, not just a visual representation of relative heat. This means every frame of video or photo contains a full dataset of calibrated temperature measurements that can be extracted, analyzed, and reported after the flight without requiring real-time measurement during the mission. The non-radiometric Zenmuse XT 640×512 30Hz 9mm delivers high-quality thermal imagery and on-screen spot metering, but does not embed per-pixel temperature data in the image files. If your application requires post-flight temperature mapping, thermographic reporting, or compliance documentation such as in solar panel inspections, electrical substation audits, or building energy assessments, the radiometric version is essential.
Lens focal length determines the field of view and the level of detail captured from a given altitude. The 9mm lens provides a wider field of view, covering more ground per pass making it ideal for search and rescue, large area surveys, and agricultural mapping where coverage efficiency is the priority. The 13mm lens offers a narrower field of view with greater magnification at the same altitude, enabling finer detail resolution on specific targets making it better suited for infrastructure inspections of power lines, cell towers, substations, and building facades where identifying small anomalies at distance is critical. Both are available in radiometric versions.
The Zenmuse XT incorporates a suite of FLIR-designed image optimization algorithms to maximize thermal detail and clarity. Digital Detail Enhancement (DDE) sharpens fine features in the thermal image. Smart Scene Optimization (SSO) improves contrast in scenes with both very hot and very cold regions simultaneously. Active Contrast Enhancement (ACE) dynamically adjusts scene contrast relative to the temperature spread of the scene. Information Based HEQ (IBHEQ) compresses complex thermal data to produce the highest-quality image output from the available sensor data. These processing modes are selectable through the DJI GO app and can be tuned for different mission types and environments.
The Zenmuse XT is designed for integration with the DJI Inspire 1 and the DJI Matrice 100. On the Inspire 1, the Zenmuse XT delivers up to 22 minutes of flight time. Mounted on the Matrice 100 with dual TB48D batteries, flight time extends to up to 35 minutes making it well suited for larger inspection areas and extended search and rescue operations where time aloft is critical. The gimbal connects directly through DJI's Lightbridge transmission system and is fully controllable via the DJI GO app.
The DJI FlyCart 30 Winch System Kit is a payload delivery and retrieval accessory designed for the DJI FlyCart 30 heavy-lift drone. It features a motorized winch capable of lowering and raising payloads of up to 30 kg (66 lbs) with precision, allowing the drone to deliver supplies, equipment, or cargo to locations inaccessible by ground vehicles without needing to land. A built-in safety brake and automatic cut-off mechanism prevent accidental release, while a counterweight system maintains drone stability during deployment. The kit includes transport landing gear and an extension cable. Primary use cases include supply delivery to remote sites, disaster relief operations, search and rescue resupply, and industrial logistics in constrained environments.
The Zenmuse XT thermal gimbals and FlyCart 30 Winch System address a wide range of enterprise and government applications. The Zenmuse XT is trusted for power line and substation inspections, solar panel fault detection, rooftop thermal surveys, cell tower inspection, firefighting support, search and rescue, precision agriculture (crop stress and irrigation monitoring), security surveillance, wildlife monitoring, and natural resource management. The FlyCart 30 Winch System expands operational capability to include aerial supply delivery, first responder logistics, offshore and remote site resupply, and inspection scenarios requiring tool or sensor deployment to hard-to-reach infrastructure.
