Where the Dex Pro carries loads on its own platform at up to 1,100 lbs, the Dex HD is engineered to tow existing trailers and carts using a universal hitch, with a tow capacity of 2,500 lbs which is more than double the Dex Pro's carrying capacity. Its 55" × 25" footprint is compact enough to maneuver through narrow aisles and standard facility passages, and maximum visibility engineering reduces pedestrian collision risk. The universal hitch system means facilities can put existing trailers to work immediately without purchasing new rolling stock. The Dex HD RLB is the removable lithium battery variant of the Dex HD tow tractor, engineered specifically for facilities that operate 24/7 or run multiple shifts without extended downtime between them. Rather than waiting for an on-board battery to recharge which takes the vehicle out of service the RLB system allows a depleted battery to be removed and immediately replaced with a fully charged unit from a nearby charging station in seconds. Lithium batteries in the RLB system offer a significantly longer service life than AGM lead-acid batteries up to five years versus approximately 18–24 months for AGM reducing the total cost of battery replacement over the vehicle's lifetime.
