Description

Mark-10 EKM5 Myometer Kit

The Mark-10 Series EKM5 Myometer Kit is a complete, ready-to-deploy system for quantifying human strength, measuring push and pull forces, and conducting ergonomics assessments across a wide range of clinical, occupational health, human factors research, and industrial applications. Built around the Mark-10 M5-200 advanced digital force gauge — the same platform used across Mark-10's professional force measurement line — the EKM5 brings laboratory-grade force measurement capability to environments where portability, ease of setup, and repeatable data capture all matter equally.

At the center of the kit is the M5-200 Series 5 force gauge, a 200 lbF (1,000 N) capacity instrument featuring a 7,000 Hz sampling rate and ±0.1% full scale accuracy. The gauge measures real-time, peak, and average forces in both tension (pull) and compression (push) modes, with a large backlit display showing live load readings, peak values, set point indicators, and an analog load bar graph simultaneously. High and low programmable limit indicators provide immediate pass/fail and minimum force feedback without requiring the examiner to interpret numerical readings in real time — a meaningful advantage when administering standardized strength assessments to multiple subjects.

The included tabletop mounting kit supports both vertical and horizontal gauge orientations, allowing the EKM5 to be configured for a wide variety of muscle group assessments — from isometric leg press and shoulder abduction to grip support and upper extremity pull testing. The adjustable-length looped strap and G1107 snap hook complete the attachment system, connecting directly to the subject's limb or a fixed anchor point depending on the test protocol. All components, including the gauge, strap, attachments, AC adapter, USB cable, and MESUR® Lite software, stow securely in the included cushioned carrying case for transport between workstations, field assessments, or clinic sites.

The 1,000-point internal data memory stores individual readings with statistical calculations (mean, standard deviation, min, max) and supports bulk download to MESUR® Lite software for tabulation, reporting, and export to Excel. USB, RS-232, Mitutoyo, and analog outputs provide full connectivity to data acquisition systems, external SPC software, and PC-based analysis environments. The M5-200 gauge is also fully compatible with the complete range of Mark-10 grips and attachments, extending the EKM5's test capability well beyond the included accessories when specialized testing geometries are required.

Key Features

  • 200 lbF / 1,000 N Capacity - Covers the Full Range of Human Strength Assessment Applications - The M5-200 Series 5 force gauge provides sufficient range to measure upper and lower extremity push and pull forces for the full population of subjects encountered in clinical, ergonomics, and occupational health settings, while the 0.05 lbF / 0.2 N resolution maintains precision for lighter-load isometric tests of smaller muscle groups, grip support, and finger-level force measurements.
  • 7,000 Hz Sampling Rate with ±0.1% Full Scale Accuracy - The gauge captures force data at 7,000 readings per second, reliably detecting true peak force even during quick-action contractions where slower instruments would underreport and delivers ±0.1% full scale accuracy backed by an included NIST-traceable certificate of calibration with data, providing the documented traceability required for research, clinical, and compliance applications.
  • Dual-Orientation Tabletop Mount - Vertical and Horizontal Test Configurations - The included mounting kit clamps securely to a tabletop and supports the force gauge in both vertical and horizontal orientations without tools, allowing the EKM5 to be reconfigured quickly between test protocols for different muscle groups — including shoulder abduction, elbow flexion/extension, knee flexion/extension, and trunk strength assessments without purchasing additional hardware.
  • Programmable High/Low Limits for Real-Time Pass/Fail and Minimum Force Feedback - Two programmable set points trigger visual indicators on the display when the measured force exceeds an upper limit or falls below a minimum threshold, allowing examiners to confirm whether a subject has met a required force target or exceeded a safe load limit during the test without post-processing data directly supporting return-to-work screens, functional capacity evaluations, and industrial job demand assessments.
  • 1,000-Point Memory with Statistics and MESUR® Lite Data Collection Software - Internal memory stores up to 1,000 individual readings with automatic calculation of mean, standard deviation, minimum, and maximum values; readings are bulk-downloadable to the included MESUR® Lite software for tabulation and one-click export to Excel, while the optional MESUR® gauge Plus upgrade adds load-vs.-time plotting, graphical analysis, and advanced reporting for research and clinical documentation workflows.
  • Complete Portable System in a Cushioned Carrying Case - Ready for Clinical and Field Use - Every component needed for strength assessment deployment force gauge, tabletop mount, adjustable strap, snap hook, AC adapter/charger, USB cable, and software is included and organized in a purpose-built cushioned carrying case, enabling ergonomists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and industrial hygienists to move the complete testing system between offices, clinic rooms, or field sites without additional procurement or improvised fixturing.
