Description

Phase2+ 900-375A Twin Rockwell/Superficial Hardness Tester

The Phase2+ 900-375A is the only benchtop hardness tester you need when your work spans both standard and superficial Rockwell hardness scales. This twin hardness tester reads in all Rockwell hardness scales and Superficial Rockwell hardness scales including the popular HRA, HRBW, HRC, HRN, and HRT scales, combining what would otherwise require two separate instruments into one compact, ruggedly engineered unit.

The 900-375A is ruggedly engineered to obtain highly sensitive and accurate readings, conforming to ASTM E-18 Rockwell hardness standards for unmatched repeatability across all Rockwell hardness scales. Its dual-scale analog dial a key design distinction from single-purpose testers allows operators to switch seamlessly between standard Rockwell loads (10 kgf minor / 60–150 kgf major) for bulk metals and Superficial Rockwell loads (3 kgf minor / 15–45 kgf major) for thin, soft, or lightly case-hardened materials without changing instruments or reconfiguring the setup.

This makes the 900-375A particularly well-suited to shops, labs, and heat treat facilities that regularly work with a mix of material types eliminating the capital cost, bench space, and calibration burden of maintaining two separate Rockwell testers. Results are read directly from a precision dual-scale analog dial, providing immediate battery-free hardness readings with real-time tactile feedback on every test cycle. Lifetime technical support is included with all Phase II hardness testers, and NIST/ASTM certified test blocks, penetrators, and accessory kits are available as options.

Key Features

  • Full Rockwell AND Superficial Rockwell Testing in One Unit - The 900-375A is the only instrument you need for both test methods covering all standard Rockwell scales (HRA, HRBW, HRC, HRD, HRE, HRF, HRG, and more) and all Superficial Rockwell scales (HR15N, HR30N, HR45N, HR15T, HR30T, HR45T, and more) without swapping instruments or reconfiguring the test station.
  • Dual Minor Loads: 3 kgf & 10 kgf - Selectable minor loads of 3 kgf (Superficial) and 10 kgf (standard Rockwell) on a single platform enable testing of thin, soft, and lightly case-hardened materials alongside hard steels, cast irons, titanium, and other demanding alloys all from one benchtop location.
  • Dual-Scale Analog Dial for Instant, Battery-Free Readouts - A dual-scale analog dial gauge simultaneously supports both Rockwell and Superficial Rockwell scale readout, providing immediate, clear hardness values on every test cycle without electronics, power, or warm-up time.
  • Dead Weight Loading - ASTM E-18 Compliant - Dead weight test force application across six major load selections (15, 30, 45, 60, 100, and 150 kgf) delivers the precise, repeatable force delivery required for consistent results across all Rockwell and Superficial Rockwell scales per ASTM E-18.
  • Space and Cost Efficiency of Two Testers in One - Eliminates the need to purchase, maintain, calibrate, and qualify two separate instruments - a standard Rockwell tester and a Superficial Rockwell tester - saving bench space, reducing capital expenditure, and simplifying your calibration schedule.
  • Lifetime Technical Support Included - Every Phase2+ 900-375A ships with a full complement of Rockwell and Superficial Rockwell indenters, test blocks, and anvils, backed by lifetime technical support at no additional cost, with NIST/ASTM certified test blocks available as an option.
