Phase2+ 900-475 Twin Rockwell Hardness Tester
The Phase2+ 900-475 is the most technologically advanced Twin Rockwell/Superficial Rockwell hardness tester in the Phase2+ lineup — a newly designed, fully automated instrument that introduces a suite of next-generation features not found on any previous model in the series. The 900-475 is suitable for determining Rockwell hardness of ferrous, non-ferrous metals, and non-metal materials, and is especially suitable for the precise measurement of both flat and curved surfaces.
The 900-475 is built around a high accuracy optical grating displacement measuring system with a significant advancement over the encoder-based depth measurement used in earlier load cell Rockwell testers. This system captures indentation depth with greater resolution and linearity, directly translating to more precise and consistent Rockwell hardness results across all test loads. The instrument also incorporates automatic tracking and testing with no test error caused by deformation of the frame and/or workpiece, further eliminating a common source of measurement variability in traditional designs.
The LED-lighted measuring head moves up and down automatically and applies the preliminary test force without operator input, while the fully automated load cycle handles pre-load, major load, dwell, and unload from a single touch of the start symbol on the display. The 900-475 is the only Phase2+ Rockwell tester to include Bluetooth data interface and an external wireless mini printer in the box which enables cable-free result transmission and on-the-spot hardness test documentation in any environment. Hardness scale conversions are based upon material per ASTM E140-12b (2019), a built-in round part correction factor is included, and precision conforms to ASTM E18, GB/T 230.2, and ISO 6508.
