Phase2+ PHT-1800, PHT-1840, and PHT-1850 Portable Hardness Tester Series
The Phase2+ PHT-1800 Series represents the advanced tier of the Phase II portable Leeb hardness tester lineup, delivering the features and performance of high-end laboratory instruments in a compact, field-ready package at an economical price. The series consists of three models, the PHT-1800, PHT-1840, and PHT-1850 each sharing the same state-of-the-art digital platform while being differentiated by the application-specific impact device included to address the full spectrum of industrial hardness testing requirements.
All three models feature easy keypad operation, automatic impact device identification, a large backlit LCD display, USB output, automatic conversion to Brinell, Rockwell B and C, Vickers, and Shore hardness scales, automatic mean, minimum, and maximum value reporting, a battery indicator, and 100-group memory capacity. The series meets ASTM A956 specifications and is NIST certified with a five-year warranty, making it suitable for regulated quality assurance environments as well as demanding production and field inspection settings.
The PHT-1800 is designed to test the hardness of large, hard metal parts and includes the universally standard Type D impact device, suitable for the majority of testing assignments. The PHT-1840 is a dedicated variant designed to test gear teeth and other difficult-to-access applications, and is supplied with the Type DL impact device featuring a needle front section of 0.109 inch diameter and 1.96 inch length. The PHT-1850 is designed to test large cast parts and components with rough surfaces, and includes the Type G impact device with an enlarged test tip for use on solid, heavy components such as rough castings and forgings.
Key Features
-
USB Output with 100-Group Memory and PC Software - All three models store up to 100 measurement groups containing individual readings, mean values, impact direction, material type, and hardness scale, and transfer data directly to a PC via USB for documentation and analysis.
-
Automatic Impact Device Identification - The instrument automatically recognizes the connected impact device type upon plug-in, eliminating manual configuration steps and reducing the risk of operator setup errors.
-
Multi-Scale Automatic Hardness Conversion - Results are instantly converted and displayed in Brinell, Rockwell B and C, Vickers, Shore, and Leeb (HL) scales without manual reference tables or additional calculation.
-
Automatic Mean, Min, and Max Reporting - Statistical values across each test group are calculated and displayed automatically, supporting more comprehensive test documentation and process control.
-
Three Application-Specific Configurations - The Type D device on the PHT-1800 handles general flat and round surfaces; the Type DL device on the PHT-1840 accesses gear teeth and confined geometries; and the Type G device on the PHT-1850 tests rough castings and heavy solid components.
-
ASTM A956 Compliant, NIST Certified, 5-Year Warranty - The entire PHT-1800 series meets the recognized standard for Leeb hardness testing, is backed by NIST certification, and carries a five-year manufacturer warranty for full confidence in measurement integrity.
