Phase2+ PHT-1900 Portable Hardness Tester
The Phase2+ PHT-1900 is the flagship portable Leeb hardness tester in the Phase II lineup, combining the proven performance of the PHT-1800 series platform with a significant suite of advanced features centered on its color display, automatic impact direction detection, and flexible calibration system. Designed to test large, hard metal parts, the PHT-1900 includes auto-probe detection, auto-direction detection, and single or multi-point calibration capabilities which has a combination of functions not found on any other model in the series and one that makes it the most versatile portable hardness tester Phase II offers.
The key distinction between the PHT-1900 and the PHT-1800 is the brighter color display and automatic impact direction detection, which allows the operator to test at any angle including upside down or at a right angle without changing any instrument settings. This eliminates the manual direction configuration required on lower-tier models and substantially speeds up testing workflows on complex assemblies, overhead structures, and large fabricated components.
The large memory stores up to 100 data groups with 1 to 32 impact times per group, capturing single measurement values, mean value, impact direction, impact times, material type, and hardness scale. The USB interface supports data download to a PC or direct communication with a printer. The PHT-1900 achieves accuracy of +/- 0.5% referenced to L=800 with repeatability of +/- 4 HL units across a measuring range of 200 to 960 HL, and automatically converts results to Brinell, Rockwell B and C, Vickers, and Shore hardness scales. Optional impact devices including Types DC, D+15, DL, G, and C are available, and NIST/ASTM certified hardness test blocks are offered as optional accessories for documented calibration verification.
Key Features
-
Color Display with Clean, High-Contrast Interface - The PHT-1900 features a bright, full-color LCD that presents all instrument functions, measurement values, material settings, impact direction, and battery status in a single clear view, improving usability in varied lighting conditions.
-
Automatic Impact Direction Detection - The instrument automatically detects and compensates for the direction of the impact without any operator input, enabling accurate testing at any angle including overhead and inverted positions without reconfiguring settings between tests.
-
Auto-Probe Detection - The PHT-1900 automatically identifies the connected impact device upon plug-in, eliminating manual probe configuration and allowing fast device changes in multi-application environments.
-
Single and Multi-Point Calibration - Supports both single-point calibration using the included test block for rapid setup and multi-point calibration using additional test blocks for enhanced accuracy across a broader hardness range. A capability unique to the PHT-1900 in the Phase II+ portable lineup.
-
100-Group Memory with USB Output and Printer Compatibility - Stores up to 100 data groups with 1 to 32 impact readings per group, each capturing the full measurement record. The USB interface supports PC data download and direct communication with a printer for on-site reporting.
-
Broadest Compatible Impact Device Range - Optional impact devices including Types DC, D+15, DL, G, and C expand the PHT-1900's testing capability to confined bores, gear teeth, grooves, rough castings, and case-hardened or thin-walled components, making it the most application-versatile model in the series.
