Phase2+ PHT-2100 Portable Hardness Tester

Description

Phase2+ PHT-2100 Portable Hardness Tester

The Phase2+ PHT-2100 Rugged Portable Hardness Tester is purpose-built for professionals who require the full functionality of a high-end Leeb hardness tester in environments where standard instruments would be compromised by harsh conditions. Constructed with a rugged, extruded aluminum frame suited for rough environments such as mining facilities, pipeline inspections, and bridge and tower assessments, the PHT-2100 combines the durability demanded by heavy industrial applications with the advanced feature set typically reserved for more expensive laboratory-grade models.

The PHT-2100 features easy keypad operation, automatic impact device identification, a large backlit LCD display, USB output, automatic conversion to Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, and Shore hardness scales, automatic mean value calculation, a battery indicator, and 100-group memory capacity. These capabilities make it equally at home on a remote job site as in a quality control laboratory, providing consistent and repeatable results across the full spectrum of industrial testing conditions.

The PHT-2100 achieves accuracy of +/- 0.5% referenced to L=800 with repeatability of +/- 4 HL units across a measuring range of 200 to 960 HL, and is compatible with steel and cast steel, alloy tool steel, stainless steel, gray cast iron, spheroidal iron, cast aluminum, brass, bronze, and wrought copper alloy. Optional impact devices including Types DC, D+15, DL, G, and C are available to extend the instrument's testing capability to gear teeth, confined bores, grooves, rough castings, and case-hardened or thin-walled components. NIST/ASTM certified hardness test blocks are available as optional accessories for documented calibration verification.

Key Features

  • Rugged Extruded Aluminum Body - The all-metal frame construction is engineered to withstand the physical demands of harsh field environments including mining operations, pipeline inspections, and elevated structural assessments where standard plastic-body testers are inadequate.
  • Automatic Impact Device Identification - The PHT-2100 automatically recognizes the connected impact device type upon plug-in, eliminating manual configuration and reducing the risk of setup errors when switching between testing applications in the field.
  • Multi-Scale Automatic Hardness Conversion - Test results are instantly converted and displayed in Brinell, Rockwell, Vickers, and Shore hardness scales without manual lookup tables or supplementary calculation.
  • 100-Group Memory with USB Output - Stores up to 100 measurement groups on-board and transfers data directly to a PC via USB for reporting, documentation, and quality record integration.
  • Automatic Mean Value with Battery Indicator - Mean hardness values are calculated and displayed automatically across each test group, and the dedicated battery indicator keeps operators informed of remaining power during extended field deployments.
  • Broad Application Compatibility with Optional Impact Devices - In addition to the included Type D device for general surface testing, optional Types DC, D+15, DL, G, and C expand the PHT-2100 to gear teeth, recessed surfaces, bores, rough castings, and case-hardened components.
