Description

Phase2+ PHT-6011 Ultrasonic Hardness Tester w/ Long 1kg Probe (Manual)

The Phase2+ PHT-6011 Ultrasonic Hardness Tester is a professional-grade, handheld instrument engineered for non-destructive hardness testing on deep-grooved and precision-machined surfaces. It combines both UCI (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance) and Leeb Dynamic Impact hardness testing methods into a single, state-of-the-art portable unit giving quality control technicians, inspectors, and engineers the versatility to handle a wide range of field and shop floor applications without swapping tools.

The UCI method uses a 136-degree diamond at the end of a vibrating rod, which is pressed into the test surface at a fixed load. The resulting shift in ultrasonic vibration frequency is then calculated into a hardness value. This approach is categorized as non-destructive, meaning less scrap and lower inspection costs across production environments.

Designed specifically for deep-grooved surfaces with a surface roughness of Ra below 125 µin, the PHT-6011's long 1kgf manual probe provides the reach and precision needed where standard probes fall short. Test steel with a minimum thickness of 0.08 in. and no maximum thickness limit, making it equally effective on thin metal stock and massive structural components alike.

Results are delivered quickly and displayed on a backlit LCD color screen with adjustable brightness, simultaneously showing conversions across multiple hardness scales for immediate, actionable data in any environment.

Key Features

  • Dual-Method Testing in One Unit - Integrates UCI (Ultrasonic Contact Impedance) and Leeb Dynamic Impact hardness testing, eliminating the need for two separate instruments in the field or on the shop floor.
  • Long 1kgf Probe for Deep-Groove Surfaces - The extended manual probe is purpose-built for surfaces with Ra below 125 µin, reaching into grooves, recesses, and confined geometries that standard probes cannot access.
  • Non-Destructive on Thin and Heavy Parts - Tests steel and other metals with a minimum thickness of just 0.08" (2mm) with no upper thickness limit, covering everything from thin-walled components to large castings.
  • Multi-Scale Hardness Readout - Delivers simultaneous hardness conversions in HRC, HRB, HRA, HB (Brinell), HV (Vickers), and HLD (Leeb) on a full-color backlit LCD screen with adjustable brightness.
  • Large Memory with USB Data Output - Stores up to 2,000 groups of measured data and 20 groups of calibration data, with USB connectivity for easy transfer to a PC for reporting and traceability documentation.
  • ±3.0% Accuracy Tolerance - Meets a measurement tolerance of ±3.0% deviation from the reference value based on a minimum of 5 tests, supporting reliable QC compliance across aerospace, automotive, and industrial manufacturing applications.
