The Phase2+ SRG-4000 is a state-of-the-art handheld surface roughness tester and profilometer engineered specifically for the shop floor environment, combining high measurement accuracy, a full menu-driven feature set, and an external stylus design that significantly expands measurement versatility compared to integrated-stylus instruments. Designed with the shop environment in mind, the SRG-4000 is distinguished by a high level of accuracy, multiple parameters, and simplicity of operation, delivering extremely sensitive and highly accurate readings across the four standard surface roughness parameters Ra, Rq (Rms), Rt, and Rz.
The diamond stylus is hypersensitive and sophisticated enough to allow for a 0.001 µm micron display resolution. The display range covers Ra and Rq from 0.005 µm up to 16 µm and Rz and Rt from 0.02 µm up to 160 µm, with a pickup measuring range of +/- 80 µm and a 5 µm diamond tip stylus at a 90-degree sensor angle with 4 mN contact force.
The SRG-4000 utilizes an easy interface to allow changes of in/mm (µin/µm), cutoff length, sampling length, parameters, stylus position level, digital filters, and more. Display features include a stylus position sensor, battery level indicator, direct display of parameters, direct printing capability, and auto-off with auto store. The instrument features a menu-driven operating system, inside and outside diameter measurement capability, a stylus position indicator, RS-232 output to a printer or PC, and extended memory functions. Conformance standards include ISO, DIN, JIS, and ANSI. Optional accessories include a 2 µm stylus, extension rod, precision stand, and NIST-certified surface roughness standard.
